The Installer Has Encountered an Unexpected Error Installing This Package - Error Code 2753

Error Example:

Pop-up during installation/uninstallation:

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753.

Cause:

In earlier versions of Cloud Connector (at least as old as 5.0.21.0), it was possible to select a "Custom Install" and select items in the list to be Advertise-mode, which will install the features on-demand. This feature was taken out of later versions of the installer.

If you did this in an older install (set items as Advertise-mode/on-demand install) and then try to install a newer version or uninstall, it will give this error when it tries to uninstall the original package.

Resolution/Workaround:

You will need to use the old installation package to undo the custom settings (Support may be able to provide this if you no longer have it). When you run the old installer, you will need to go to "Change" and then set the features that are in Advertise-mode (noted with a yellow 1 symbol) instead to be installed as normal. You then finish the installation process as normal with the old installer. When that is completed, you should now be able to run the newer installer without an issue or uninstall the application.​
