This is an Initial Uni-Directional Synchronization

Error Example:

This is an initial uni-directional synchronization. Destination '<TargetEntityName>' contains some items which do not exist in source '<SourceEntityName>'. To be able to initialize a synchronization, those non-matching items must be deleted from destination '<TargetEntityName>'. To allow this the 'Overwrite Destination' parameter must be enabled in the connection settings.

Cause:

This occurs on uni-directional initial sync where there is pre-existing content in the destination location. It is expected that the destination is blank.

Resolution/Workaround:

You can either delete everything out of the destination location so that it is clear, or you need to enable Overwrite Destination in the connection settings. Note that:

• ​This functionality only applies to the initial sync. It does nothing with established syncs or for bi-directional syncs.
• If operations are disabled, affected items will be skipped over when Overwrite Destination is enabled for an initial ​sync.
• If the primary keys have been properly set, then it will not delete/re-insert items with matching keys but just update them. Recommended that the keys be the same field/data-type on each side to do this.
